Mid-Carolina is
required by the State to develop an annual renewal
plan in three areas for school improvement.
Each goal includes relevant data and strategies for
implementation.

Student Achievement

Goal I: The percentage
of second-year high school students who meet the
standard on the ELA subtest of the HSAP on the first
attempt will increase from 81.5% in 2005 to 93% in 2010.
Goal II: The percentage
of second-year high school students who meet the
standard on the math subtest of the HSAP on the
first attempt will increase from 74% in 2005 to 95%
in 2010.
Goal III: The
percentage of students who earn a 70 or higher on
the Algebra I EOC assessment will increase from
76.4% in 2005 to 84% in 2010.
Goal IV: The percentage
of students who earn a 70 or higher on the English I
EOC assessment will increase from 58.7% in 2005 to
73% in 2010.
Goal V: The percentage
of students who earn a 70 or higher on the Physical
Science EOC assessment will increase from 41.1% in
2005 to 78% in 2010.
Goal VI: The percentage
of students who earn a 70 or higher on the US
History I EOC assessment will increase from 38.3% in
2005 to 55% in 2010.
Goal VII: The
percentage of students who graduate with a high
school diploma with their class will increase from
68.5% in 2005 to 83% in 2010.

qualified teachers will be retained at a turnover
rate of less than 10% by 2010.

Goal IX: The percentage
of students satisfied with the learning, social and
physical environment will increase from an average
of 59.2% in 2005 to 85% in 2010.
Goal X: The percentage
of parents satisfied with home-school relations will
increase from 66.7% in 2005 to 75% in 2010.
Goal XI: To become a
model coordinated school health program with
coordination of the following eight components: safe
and healthy environment, physical education, health
education, staff wellness, health services, guidance
and health, nutrition services and parent and
community involvement.
